This short walk through mature Aspen and mixedwood forest is quiet and calming. Occasional views of Katherine lake provide great photo opportunities of a pristine, boreal lake. A picnic area with stunning views and firepits is located near the parking area.
CAUTION: Recent high water levels at Katherine Lake have closed the lakeside portion of the loop. Although the trail's trademark pair of loons and lakeshore are not easily observed, the forested portion of the trail is still worth the trip.
